Hatching instructions:

  • Prepare hatching solution from tap water using non-iodized salt or seawater. Concentration of salt can range from 15 - 30 PPT. Recommended pH 8.0 - 8.5. PH can be increased by adding sodium bicarbonate.
  • Add cysts at the rate of 1 - 1.5 grams per liter of hatching solution. Apply sufficient aeration to keep cysts in suspension.
  • During incubation, maintain hatching solution temperature at 25 degrees Celsius (77 degrees Farenheit). Provide natural or artificial light.
  • After hatching is complete, stop aeration and allow the hatching solution to rest for 10 minutes. Siphon nauplii into a fine mesh net. Rinse with fresh water before feeding. Hatch only as many eggs as you can use in 24 hours. After opening the can, protect from humidity!
