Recommended hatching procedure for SANDERS® Artemia salina eggs:
Ordinary tap water with the addition of NaCl (table salt) at the rate of 25 grams to 1 liter of water is sufficient for hatching Artemia eggs. The recommended egg quantity is max. 15 ml per 1 liter of treated water. The optimum water temperature for hatching eggs is 23º - 25º C, pH value 8 - 9.
Working method: Pour tap water at the appropriate temperature into a glass, add the measured amount of table salt and Artemia eggs; introduce a coarse aeration (the WHOLE contents of the glass must move!). After the hatching time has elapsed, turn off the aeration and wait approx. 10 minutes. The Artemia pupae will settle on the bottom of the jar. Using a small tube, the nauplii are then siphoned off into a fine sieve, rinsed with clear tap water and fed to the fry. Only add as many eggs as you will consume in 24 hours. The tin must always be closed tightly after the eggs have been poured out, as the moisture damages the eggs.
